GOD MADE ME
God made me special. I use my feet to walk. I use my ears to hear. I use my eyes to see. Best of all, I use my head to think.
by Bryan, 1st grade
God made me special. I use my eyes to see. I use my ears to hear. I use my legs to walk, but best of all I use my heart to praise God.

7th & 8th Grade Poetry
FRIENDS - anonymous
Friends stick up for each other
They are loyal through thick and thin
They will never lie to you
Who you can tell your secrets to
They are loyal through thick and thin
Who are encouraging in times of trouble
Who you can tell your secrets to
Who you know you can trust
Who are encouraging in times of trouble
There for you when you need help
Who you know you can trust
Helpful when you don’t understand
There for you when you need help
They will never lie to you
Helpful when you don’t understand
Friends stick up for each other
RAIN - Amy, 7th Grade
Rain falling from the sky
Pit-pat, pit-pat, all day long
Coming down so fast, though I don’t know why
Making its beautiful song
Pit-pat, pit-pat, all day long
The rain collecting on the ground
Making its beautiful song
I love listening to its sound
The rain collecting on the ground
Filling every ditch and stream
I love listening to its sound
It feels like I’m in a dream
Filling every ditch and stream
Coming down so fast, though I don’t know why
It feels like I’m in a dream
Rain falling from the sky
I Don’t Understand - Elena-8th grade
I don’t understand
Why some people are just really mean
Why everyone can’t just be friends
Why people like doing bad things
But most of all
Why people reject others for their beliefs
Why loved ones are separated
Why people die at the wrong time
Why life isn’t fair
What I understand most is
Why my friends are so close to me
Why parties are so fun
Why night time comes
Dean - Dean, 8th grade
Determined
Energetic when not in school
Almost always friendly
Nice if you’re not weird
Male
Calm
Devoted to family and friends
Almost always jokes with friends
Never not wanting to have fun
Never will stop liking the same music
Elegant if I have to be
Lengthy
In My Closet - anonymous
Clothes
stuffed in the bottom
Hangers
half of them empty
Bathrobe
too big to wear
Towel
all moldy and wet
A hat
from a sale
Play clothes
from the old
Dolls
their clothes and a bed
Hair brush
used every day
Bar of soap
too pretty to use
Couple of bucks
in my hoard
Book
never published
Homework
never turned in
Recorder
seldom played
Camera
and their tapes
Monster?
not enough room
Good Morning - anonymous
The day began with the rising sun
The roosters crow
People jog through the park
Homeless people get off the benches
The roosters crow
Cars turn on and drive around
Homeless people get off the benches
The city comes to life
Cars turn on and drive around
Breakfast is served
The city comes to life
Alarms wake people up
Breakfast is served
Kids play outside
Alarms wake people up
People mow their lawns
Kids play outside
The paper boy bikes through the street
People mow their lawns
It’s time to get out of bed
The paper boy bikes through the street
People jog through the park
It’s time to get out of bed
The day began with the rising sun
Things I Miss in America - Daniela-7th grade
Making s’mores in August
The weather that’s hottest
My cousins laughing hard
My aunt making me laugh
Swimming in the cold water
Wishing it would not get hotter
Camping in the deserted woods
Finding interesting goods
My grandparents who are kind
Good friends I could find
All my family, big and small
My house standing very tall
I wish I might go back one day
Like a visit, for I cannot stay
I wish that day would come here soon!
Grocery Store - anonymous
You find in a store:
A place filled with things,
A frozen pack of onion rings.
Some batteries,
A bunch of ham and cheese.
Yellow lemons,
And watermelons.
Bottles of apa plata,
And coca cola.
Just cooked bread,
And pencil lead.
Kids asking for candy,
Parents looking madly.
People buying lots of stuff,
The cashier life must be tough.
